What is it?
Jedi Fighter is a multiplayer 2D fighting game based in the Star Wars universe, inspired by Street Fighter II and Last Blade.
It is a total conversion (or mod) for the Quake 3 engine based game entitled Star Wars: Jedi Academy.
You need to have Jedi Academy installed to be able to play Jedi Fighter.
When is it coming out?
A public release for Jedi Fighter is coming out in Dec. 2015.
Where can I get it?
Check out the downloads sections for an initial gameplay release.
Since you also need Jedi Academy installed, you can buy that on Steam or from Amazon for PC.
Public releases and source code will be made available on here and Github.
Who is making it?
Jedi Fighter is a labor of love for Adnan Zafar. A good friend of mine, Eric Landreneau, helped by making some maps, a logo, and letting me use his Imperial Guard model many years ago. Check out the credits page for more information.
Why are you making it?
I’ve always been a huge fighting game fan, so I created my own fighting game by mixing elements from Neo Geo games (Last Blade, Last Blade II), and Capcom fighting games (Street Fighter II).
How are you making it?
It it being programmed in C, and maps are being made using GTKRadiant, “an open source cross-platform map editor for id Tech games”.
